Sports
Healthy body, healthy mind. Improving in sports translates directly to
improving in school. Sports can help you… o Increase concentration and develop problem-solving skills o Learn how to set and attain goals o Gain “Training Transfer”, skills that start showing up in school or on the job o Improve self-esteem through success (and failure!) o Learn time-management skills Students who play sports work harder in the classroom. A study of 2,308 student athletes in grades 7-12 found that 56 percent received As, 45 percent received Bs and Cs, and the rest aren’t worth mentioning here. . |
DSS extends its service to adults from Dalgarno area to take part in the sauna club at WestWay fitness Club and Gym, swimming and tennis at West Way sport Centre. Young people from DSS participated in cycling sport at Richmond Park.

We value playtime as important part of our school. We believe that pupils with regular outdoor activity show greater concentration in the class. The reason is that moving away from the classroom and into a natural setting provides a break from the “directed attention” schoolwork requires. This break prevents mental fatigue and makes it easier to stay focused later in the day.
Playtime is important part of our pupils to play with their friends. Saturday classes are held at Dalgarno Trust, it has outdoor play area with a specific design for children to play during the break times. It is modern and has recreational equipment. Many of which help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as providing recreation and enjoyment. Pupils participate in physical activity, such as learning to swing, balance and climb to become physically fit, help them overcome fear and show them what their bodies are capable of achieving as well as improve their self-esteem. |
